Our First Game

Our First Game from Robert Kerner on Vimeo.

We had the good fortune to take the kids to a Mets game a couple of weekends ago. This was their first baseball game, Bob & Donna's first trip to CitiField, and the first pro ballgame Bob has attended since junior high school.

Our employer donated 10,000 tickets for employees to attend the first Sunday game of the regular season. Bob was able to get a set of field-level tickets just off third base, and they provided a wonderful view of the game. We think the Mets played the Nationals, but we cannot be sure since most of our time was devoted to watching the kids and the other people at the game. The ballpark is its own spectacle. It's worth the price of admission just to walk around and eat!

We're not sure the kids understood the game, though they have been talking about baseball ever since. They mostly liked the train ride (oh so convenient) to the stadium, which is also the highlight of the short movie.

Tickets were free but we spent over $100 on lunch, gifts and the train ride. In the end, the Mets organization got its return on investment by giving away the tickets. We will certainly be back.
